Our Business Units: Specialist Consultants

The Specialist Consultant Group

Synatus is establishing a new business model for the Specialist Consultants. The Synatus Specialist Consulting Group is an entirely virtual web based structure run at a minimal cost. Specialist Consultants would like to be part of a Group that offers the following:

  • Develop more direct client relationships through more cost effective marketing
  • Work with a team of other consulting professionals offering mutual support
  • Refer work to properly vetted colleagues with other skills

The Specialist Consulting team will become a closed virtual structure of 400-500 specialist consultants divided into the following disciplines:

  • Strategy
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • CSR
  • IT
  • Operations
  • Finance
  • HR
  • Risk & Compliance

Each group will plan the numbers of each sub discipline we think we need in each group. Once each discipline is complete we will close the doors and only make adjustments as necessary or replace leavers with similar skills. This has the effect of developing increasing trust amongst members and gives Synatus the opportunity to polish the model and not dilute the benefit to member partners.

Specialist Consultants join Synatus and publish their profile which is publicly visible. It includes Case Studies and any articles, presentations or even books they have written.

Each member contributes £25 per month contribution to overhead and marketing costs.

Synatus has negotiated significant savings on the costs of running your business such as Accountancy ∓ Tax and Insurance to save you money. The savings for some members have exceeded the marketing / overhead contribution they make. There is no obligation to use these services just an attempt by Synatus to add value to its members.

Marketing will be done in a number of different ways:

  • Build web site structure for clients and members.
  • Viral marketing through training partners.
  • PR and site based hyperlinks.

Why clients use Synatus

  • The client finds senior experienced consultants who actually deliver the solution not pur juniors in to do it.
  • There is also a saving of up to 50% for high quality consultants when compared to the rates charged by the big firms.
  • Easy access to many Consultants with experience in many sectors and disciplines in one place.
  • Client can use their own selection process.

Join Synatus

Synatus is a virtual consulting, interim management and training Group that enables senior level experienced sole practitioners to work together to service and develop client business. The Group provides the individual with a total support structure which includes saving money on services they buy for their business. They also earn fees for referring colleagues and introducing third party products and services to clients.

Each Consultant who is selected to join continues to own and run his or her own business and continues to bill existing and new clients directly in the normal way. The Consultant does not pay any part of the client fee to the Centre.

We aim to provide our clients with a full range of skills, expertise and capabilities drawn from the members of the Group around the world. At the same time we want to create an environment which is mutually supportive for us all.

The Basics

Synatus is a group of independent consultants, interim managers and trainers who work together within a virtual structure to win and deliver client projects.

Each Partner continues to be independent and runs their own business and at the same time gets the benefits of association and the power of the group. You continue to bill existing and new clients directly in the normal way and do not pay any part of the client fee to Synatus.

Everyone in the Group contributes £25 + VAT to the running costs of Synatus on a monthly basis.

Partners reward each other for referrals and typically pay 10% for any Consulting, Interim, Training or Coaching referral. It is up to you and your colleague if you wish to vary these arrangements.

To cover and often exceed the overhead contribution, partners buy some of the discounted services such as Accountancy & Tax and Insurance through the group to reduce the costs of running their own businesses.

The idea is that the power of many working together is much stronger than lots of individuals working alone.

Benefits

Every partner in the Synatus group gains from the collective credibility of a team of high calibre independent consultants, interim managers, trainers and coaches. The group is made up of experienced independent professionals with experience in many disciplines and sectors.

Partners benefit from collective marketing that not only increases your profile but reduces the marketing costs for your own business. Most independents recognise that marketing of their own services is their weak spot.

You are able to offer a wide range of additional support to your clients offered by your colleagues and earn a percentage of all business you introduce to them. Market your products and processes to other consultants and clients through the group in the same way.

Join or set up a Practice Group to work with a team to target new client opportunities.

Save money by using the services on which Synatus has negotiated significant cost reductions. Find these savings in the Support Services section. These savings often save far more than the annual overhead contribution you make to the Group.

Synatus is a support structure designed to address all the areas that independents find difficult.

Costs

Partners in the Group contribute £25 + VAT to the running costs of Synatus on a monthly basis.

There is no joining fee and the subscription rate at the time of your joining is fixed for as long as you remain a member. There is no minimum membership term or cancellation period.

Partners reward each other for referrals and typically pay 10% of the total value of any contract minus expenses. It is up to you and your colleague if you wish to vary these arrangements.

A small contribution from each partner creates a significant structure and buying power for everyone.

The Joining Process

The Rules

We try to keep rules to a minimum as we expect our partners to know how to behave and to treat each with mutual respect and honesty. However for the avoidance of doubt the following are worth mentioning.

  • You understand that you and Synatus are independent parties and nothing in our arrangement or by virtue of performing work for your clients, shall be taken as creating a relationship of agent to principal, employer to employee, partnership or joint venture between us and neither party is entitled to enter into agreements or other arrangements on behalf of the other.
  • You are responsible for any tax and national insurance liability in respect of the work you do for your clients and agree to indemnify Synatus in full for any assessment of tax or national insurance made against Synatus by HMRC in this respect.
  • You pay your colleague 10% for any referred assignment. The calculation excludes any expenses incurred in the performance of the contract. This percentage is negotiable provided you ensure that the deal has not been agreed or placed and all agreements should be put in writing between members / partners. Any introduction is defined as an opportunity to which you were introduced or referred by another member / partner. Other partners may also have been put forward but you would not have known about the deal had your colleague not introduced you.
  • You are asked to give 30 days notice of your intention to leave the group.

Every partner should treat other Synatus partners as they would wish to be treated.

FAQ

Is this a franchise?

No. It is it a group of like-minded consultants who work together to support each other and their clients.

Do I have to pay to join?

There is no Joining Fee although each member pays £25 + VAT per month to contribute to the Group.

The aim is to run the group with the minimum of overheads and therefore cost. Every member contributes equally to the group.

Will the monthly fee increase?

The monthly membership fee is set as low as possible and provides the funds for the web site and simple central administration and management. The monthly fee never increases for as long as you remain a member. If it increases for new members you are not affected unless you are rejoining.

Other network groups charge for training and ‘certification’

We do not do this. Synatus is a firm of consultants who have come together for mutual support. We do not make money by charging joining or training fees.

Do I receive introductory fees if I introduce another Synatus consultant to my clients?

Partners reward each other for referrals and typically pay 10% of the total value of the contract less any expenses. It is up to you and your colleague if you wish to vary these arrangements.

No – there is no centre – Synatus operates as a team working together to win client business. You work alone or with other Synatus colleagues to establish and develop client relationships.

Can I expect to receive client business or introductions from other Synatus consultants?

Yes – Synatus aims to offer the client a full range of support, skills and capability. Every Synatus consultant is encouraged to identify additional opportunities within the client where another Synatus consultant can add value
